Plan beyond the school certificate

Compare the course

Look at course content, prerequisites and the learning experience.

Organise next steps

Keep institution-specific document and deadline checklists. Check the official application route for each course you shortlist.

Your education system, in brief

Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA)

VCE subjects are organised into units, with senior preparation commonly focused on Units 3 and 4. Each subject has a study design that sets out its learning and assessment requirements. School assessments and external assessment differ by subject; VCE Vocational Major is a distinct pathway.

Senior qualification

Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)

Bring the study design for your enrolment year and the details of your school-assessed coursework or tasks. Revision should build knowledge and the ability to apply it in the required assessment format.

Questions families ask

Does tutoring replace my school program?

No. Learning support works alongside school. Your school and education authority set assessment and qualification requirements.

How do we choose the right support?

Share the year level, exact subject or test, and what feels difficult. We discuss a suitable starting point and confirm tutor availability before a commitment.

2027 admissions cycle

For 2027 courses, timely applications opened 3 August 2026 and close 28 September 2026 at 5pm. Late and very-late periods follow, but fees rise and some courses close earlier.

Selection considerations

VCE/ATAR or recognised study, prerequisites, selection rank, adjustment factors, equity schemes and course-specific selection tasks.

Application details

  • Correct applicant category and application route
  • Course codes and preference order
  • Academic records and supporting evidence
  • Adjustment, equity or pathway applications

Extra selection tasks

Some courses require a portfolio, audition, interview, questionnaire, test or written statement. These are course-specific—not universal.

Dates safeguard: Do not rely on a general closing date alone. Individual courses can close earlier, cap places or set separate evidence deadlines. Always confirm the live course listing and institution page.
