NAPLAN Online Preparation & Support in New South Wales

Build literacy and numeracy foundations without making the test the whole story.

Build literacy and numeracy foundations without making the test the whole story.

Four areas to practise with purpose

Reading

Find evidence, recognise the main idea and explain what the text supports.

Writing

Plan an idea, develop a response and leave time to edit. Practise both imaginative and persuasive writing.

Language conventions

Work on spelling, punctuation and grammar in sentences, then connect the skill to everyday writing.

Numeracy

Strengthen number sense, measurement and data interpretation. Explain a method before focusing on speed.

Your education system, in brief

NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

The HSC is the senior school credential in New South Wales. Students follow NESA course syllabuses, complete school assessment and, where applicable, sit HSC examinations or submit practical work. Course selection and literacy and numeracy requirements matter alongside exam preparation.

Senior qualification

Higher School Certificate (HSC)

Bring your course name, school assessment schedule and current syllabus. Preparation should connect classroom learning, assessment tasks and the kinds of responses expected in HSC papers.

A national assessment, with local school context

NAPLAN is a national literacy and numeracy assessment for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. Your state page connects preparation to the student’s school year and current learning needs; it does not mean there is a separate state syllabus for NAPLAN.

Questions families ask

Does tutoring replace my school program?

No. Learning support works alongside school. Your school and education authority set assessment and qualification requirements.

How do we choose the right support?

Share the year level, exact subject or test, and what feels difficult. We discuss a suitable starting point and confirm tutor availability before a commitment.

Build the foundations, without the pressure

NAPLAN is a national assessment for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. The test areas are reading, writing, conventions of language and numeracy. Our state pages help families find local school support; the national test itself is the same framework across Australia.

Start with the student’s school work and identify the areas that need more understanding. Practice should build familiarity and confidence alongside everyday learning.
