Maths support from foundations to senior study

Primary maths

Use representations and examples to build understanding of number, fractions, measurement and problem solving.

Years 7–10 maths

Connect algebra, geometry, probability and data to the question being asked. Identify the point where a method stops making sense.

Senior mathematics

Match support to the exact WACE / ATAR courses course you take. Bring the course outline, notation and approved tools used at school.

Your education system, in brief

School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA)

WACE is Western Australia’s senior secondary certificate. Students can follow different combinations of ATAR, General, VET and other approved learning. ATAR courses include external examination requirements. WACE completion and an ATAR are related to a student’s pathway, but they are not the same thing.

Senior qualification

Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE)

Bring your course type, year-level syllabus and school assessment outline. ATAR preparation includes practising with the relevant SCSA papers; other pathways need support matched to their own requirements.

A useful practice routine

Start with one worked example. Explain each step in your own words, attempt a similar question and check the result. Record whether an error came from understanding, setup or calculation so the next practice addresses its cause.

Questions families ask

Does tutoring replace my school program?

No. Learning support works alongside school. Your school and education authority set assessment and qualification requirements.

How do we choose the right support?

Share the year level, exact subject or test, and what feels difficult. We discuss a suitable starting point and confirm tutor availability before a commitment.
